Jacob GroshekInstitute Junior Faculty Fellow and associate professor of emerging media studies (COM), will be hosting Making Social Media Matter, a 3-day workshop that aims to equip attendees with the knowledge and skills to analyze and interpret data from popular social media platforms. The tools demonstrated in this workshop are at the forefront of social media research and even those with no computational training will be equipped with understanding of how to collect and interpret social media data for internal and public use. Media professionals, research analysts, scientists, college students, and anyone wanting to make sense of social media will benefit from attending.

Groshek was named a Hariri Institute Junior Faculty Fellow in 2016 and his research focuses on communication technologies and the ways in which the structure, content and uses of online and mobile media may influence sociopolitical change at the macro (national) and micro (individual) levels.
