Mr. Reyes has worked for nine years in the banking area of his country in credit risk management. In his current job in Banco Pichincha, the largest global (Consumer and Corporate) bank in Ecuador, Mr. Reyes assisted in the implementation and re-definition of the credit risk analysis process, working as a link between the credit risk side of the bank and its external counselor, an Argentinean company, Comicron. The necessity to standardized processes and improve early warning signals, as well as proper problem loan management, has emerged since Banco Pichincha has become the largest financial institution in the country.
Mr. Reyes’ current responsibilities also include Credit Committee attributions and Senior Risk Analysis involvement. As a Senior Risk Analyst, Mr. Reyes is involved in structure deals mainly financed by export credit agencies like Overseas Private Investment Corporation (US), Corporación Andina de Fomento (Andean Countries), and Hermes Kreditversicherungs-AG (Germany) through Citigroup or Banco Pichincha.
Mr. Reyes holds a degree in Commerial Engineering from the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil. Before joining Banco Pichincha, he worked within the Corporate Risk Analysis Unit of Citigroup branch Ecuador for four and-a-half years. During that time, Mr. Reyes successfully fulfilled all credit risk training available through the Latin American Development Center of Citigroup.
During this year, Mr. Reyes goal is to learn alternative source of financing projects and new ventures. |
