Lynda Nibouche

Algeria

For the last six years, Ms Lynda Nibouche has worked for Banque de Développement Local (BDL), a state owned bank in Algeria and the first bank that the Algerian government is proposing for privatization. In her current position as Internal Audit Supervisor, Ms Nibouche is actively involved in the restructuring of the bank. In addition to her main duties she has been active in many influential commissions such as the study of the agencies' profitability, the reinforcement of the foreign trade financing function, and the implementation of various directives from the Central Bank of Algeria such as upgrading the internal control function.

Ms Nibouche is also involved in a technical assistance project for the development of mortgages in Algeria (PATDCHA), which is funded by the World Bank. She lectures to instructors at the High School of Banking in Algiers.

Ms Nibouche graduated with distinction from the University of Algiers majoring in financial economics. She holds a master degree in banking from the Arab Maghreb Institute of Development Financing (IFID) in Tunis and a post graduate vocational qualification (magistère) in finance and currency from the University of Algiers.

During her Humphrey year, Ms Nibouche will broaden her knowledge about the context of internal audit in the United States (tools, practices, organizations, objectives and effectiveness of audit committees as well as professional ethics). She will also work on the legal issues of this profession through the analysis of the Sarbanes Oxley Act.

Moreover, Ms Nibouche plans during this year to enhance her skills in leadership, communication and management. In the future, she intends to work for the development of the auditing field in Algeria.
