For six years, Mr. Momin Khan has taught English as a foreign language to students at Government Higher Secondary School in Mingora Swat in northwest Pakistan. Along with teaching English, he works as the Controller of Examination and also acts as a member of the Admission Committee for New Registrants to the school.
Before taking his current position, Mr. Khan worked as a lecturer in Petroman College for Computer Sciences Peshawar, one of the largest networks of semi-government educational institutions in the country.
Momin Khan holds a master’s degree in English literature from the Department of English Literature and Applied Linguistics, Peshawar University and another master’s degree in Education from Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad. Mr. Khan is also fluent in six languages including Arabic, French, Persian, Pashto and Urdu. Mr. Khan has, in collaboration with Robert Sampson, recently translated the complete works of renowned Pashtun poet Rahman Baba (1650-1715) into English.
During his Humphrey year, he is determined to learn the latest methods and techniques in teaching English and to broaden his understanding of the American educational system by examining actual classroom situations and meeting his US counterparts in the field of Education. He will also enhance his expertise in school administration. |
