Ms. Anna Fatneva has been an English teacher for ten years, and is currently the director of studies at Lingua English Language School. Besides teaching English, her responsibilities include conducting staff evaluations, designing and implementing inservice observation and feedback for staff, organizing professional development for teaching staff, and designing and approving syllabi. For the last two years, she has also taught English language instruction methodology at Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University and supervised student teachers during their student teaching practicum.
Ms. Fatneva is also involved in teacher training at the national level. She regularly provides teacher training sessions at the Kyrgyz Academy of Education and collaborates with the Forum English Language Teachers’ Association of Kyrgyzstan.
Ms. Fatneva holds a master’s degree in teaching from the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont, and has participated in a number of seminars and workshops on English teaching both in Kyrgyzstan and abroad.
During her Humphrey year, Ms. Fatneva intends to expand her knowledge of the U.S. pre-service and in-service teacher training systems; she is especially interested in reflective teaching and the action research model. After completing the program, she will design a preservice/in-service teacher training program tailored to Kyrgyzstan.
