Pakaiphone Syphoxay

portraits_Page_02Ms. Pakaiphone Syphoxay is a lecturer and researcher in economics and business management at the National University of Laos. She teaches undergraduate courses in banking management and commercial bank operation, teaches and advises masters students in research methodologies, and supervises thesis writing. As head of Banking Unit of the Finance and Banking Department, she manages department teachers and oversees students’ academic and extracurricular activities.  As a private researcher, she advises financial institutions on management for sustainable development.

Ms. Syphoxay holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from the National University of Laos in Vientiane. She also completed a three-year research scholarship at the University of Sannio, Italy, where she conducted research in international marketing focused on the effects of country image on consumer behavior.

She further studied international business at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Japan.

During her Humphrey Fellowship year, Ms. Syphoxay plans to advance her expertise in financial literacy, managing financial institutions, market and economic research analysis, and also teaching, curriculum design, and textbook development. After returning to Laos, she aims to support the banking and finance sector to become more competitive internationally while also developing economics and business management education at the National University of Laos.
