Dr.
Wonglimpiyarat is a Science Policy Researcher at the
Ministry of Science and Technology and works for the
Advisory Group to the Minister of Industry, Thailand.
She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with working
experiences in accounting and banking disciplines at
PricewaterhouseCoopers, Standard Chartered Bank, Citibank
N.A. and Sussex Innovation Centre. She holds an MSc
degree in Technology and Innovation Management from
Sussex University, UK and a PhD in Technology Management
from Manchester Business School, UK. Her publications
include the "Barclaycard Case Study" in Exploring
Corporate Strategy (Europe's best-selling strategy textbook)
edited by Professors Gerry Johnson and Kevan Scholes,
and the book Strategies of Competition in the Bank Card
Business. Her recent paper on smart cards got the Best
Competitive Case Award from the International Business
and Economy Conference in the US.
During
her Humphrey year, Dr. Wonglimpiyarat will focus her
studies on Silicon Valley venture capital. She intends
to apply her new knowledge to implement government technology
policy to assist technology-based firms and manage risk
in the venture capital industry of Thailand.
