Arlete Salvador

Brazil

Ms. Salvador has worked as a political journalist for almost 20 years in Brazil. During this period, she has occupied many different positions in magazines and national newspapers in her country. Between 1988 and 1992, she worked for Veja, the most influential weekly magazine in Brazil. After that, she worked for Correio Braziliense, a newspaper from Brasilia, as editor-in-chief of the Correio Braziliense bureau in Sao Paulo and, later, political analyst. Ms. Salvador signed a daily column in Correio Braziliense for two years before coming to the USA. Ms. Salvador has a MSc degree in International Studies from Birmingham University, England.

Ms. Salvador intends to follow the American national election this year. A part of her project for the Humphrey Fellowship at Boston University is to enhance her knowledge about the American electoral system and study the impact of political marketing on voters.
