RUSLAN ARYKOV

Mr. Ruslan Arykov is a Chief Economist of Monetary Operations Department of the Central Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, where he is responsible for foreign reserves management of the Kyrgyz Central Bank. Prior to this position, he has worked at Financial Stability Department, where he was in charge of financial stability issues and published several applied research papers in cooperation with the World Bank and Swiss National Bank.

During his Humphrey Fellowship year at Boston University, he intends to research how to maintain financial stability of Central Asian countries (including the Kyrgyz Republic) in times of unprecedented geopolitical intensions and sanctions caused by the Russia-Ukraine war.

Ruslan hopes to deepen his knowledge in foreign reserves management, international financial markets, and macro-financial policy and to expand his networking and gain work experience at one of the U.S. government agencies responsible for maintaining financial stability.

Mr. Arykov holds a bachelor’s degree in World Economy from Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. He has successfully completed the Certificate Program in Economic Policy delivered by University of Central Asia, and Financial Stability and Macroprudential Policy Courses at IMF’s Joint Vienna Institute.
