Jorge Boiola

Argentina


Mr. Jorge Boiola has worked for the last eight years as the Coordinator of the Strategic Planning Department at Agencia Cordoba Ciencia (Cordoba Science Agency), a public institution in the Cabinet of the Government of the Province of Cordoba, Argentina. In this position, Mr. Boiola has been in charge of several programs devoted to strategic planning, international cooperation, and promoting science.

Mr. Boiola has actively participated in several provincial and national networks, such as the Technological Network of Argentina, lead by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, and the Science and Technological Secretariat. He is also a member of the Executive Honorary Commission, an interinstitutional agreement with the National Academy of Science, among other organizations.

In 2006, Mr. Boiola obtained an MBA with a dissertation proposal ranked as outstanding. Previously, he earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, with a concentration in managerial engineering, all from the National Technological University in Cordoba.

During his Humphrey year, Mr. Boiola will broaden his knowledge of designing public policy, especially for the science and technology sector. He will also examine how system indicators can help to improve the quality and transparency in the science and technology sector at both the provincial and national levels.
