Health Promotion Programs
HDR health promotion programs for elderly individuals include:
The Fear of Falling: It’s a Matter of Balance
An 8-session group program that addresses older adults’ fear of falling. This program focuses on physical, social, and cognitive factors affecting fear of falling .
Exercise: It’s Never Too Late
A 16-minute motivational videotape that examines and attacks common misconceptions that elders have about exercise and what constitutes exercise.
Strong for Life
A home-based exercise program for both disabled and non-disabled older adults. It has been proven to increase strength, balance, and overall health in both populations.
