"Some of what we have been calling aging all these years really isn't Aging at all, but is really due to prolonged periods of inactivity or just less than optimal levels of activity. Some of what we think is aging is in fact reversible and preventable at all stages of life."

Many elders have the misconception that the only good exercise is the vigorous and painful kind that their bodies can no longer tolerate. Attitudes such as the "no pain, no gain" attitude lead the elder generation into believing that exercise is no longer an option for them when in fact even gentle exercise performed regularly will help improve their health, independence, and quality of life.
The key messages to elders from Exercise: It's Never Too Late is that good exercise does not have to be exhausting and that strenuous exercise would be dangerous to someone who hasn't exercised in many years if ever at all.
This fifteen minute video examines and attacks common misconceptions that elders have about exercise and what constitutes exercise.
