The
Health & Disability Research Institute (HDR) is a campus-wide,
interdisciplinary focal point for health and disability research
at Boston University. HDR was established in June 2004 and expands
upon the scope and strengths of its predecessor, the Center for
Rehabilitation Effectiveness at Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation
Sciences.
HDR director, Alan Jette, PhD, MPH, is a Professor of Rehabilitation
Sciences at Boston University's Sargent College of Health &
Rehabilitation Sciences and Professor of Social & Behavioral
Sciences at the Boston University's School of Public Health. Stephen
Haley, PhD, HDR senior scientist, holds an academic appointment
as a Professor of Rehabilitation Sciences, at Sargent College of
Health and Rehabilitation Sciences.
Faculty and staff at HDR conduct funded research and provide education
and training opportunities. HDR provides rich opportunities for
graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and junior faculty working
to develop their research programs in the area of health and disability.
