Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP)
The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) is a University-wide academic program which promotes participation by Boston University undergraduates in faculty-mentored research across all disciplines throughout the calendar year. Boston University faculty members may submit research interests and undergraduate research opportunities for posting on the UROP web site year-round. UROP helps students apply for funding and assists them in disseminating their research findings.
At UROP's Undergraduate Research Symposium, held annually on Parents' Weekend, students learn from their peers about summer faculty-mentored research projects. UROP administers several externally-funded programs and works with faculty to apply for grants to support undergraduate research. For complete program details, see the UROP website or call the UROP office at 617-353-2020. A UROP Guide for Faculty is available online.
