Fitness and Recreation

Boston University's new, state-of-the-art Fitness and Recreation Center offers more than 18,000 square feet of weight training and cardiovascular fitness equipment, 7 courts of multi-use gym space, a climbing wall, racquetball and squash courts, an elevated running track, competition and recreational pools, a two-story dance center, juice bar, pro shop, and expansive locker rooms. Full-time graduate students are given FitRec membership automatically and need only bring their student IDs with them when they visit. Part-time graduate students are eligible to join the FitRec Center at a rate of $15.95 per month or an up-front yearly (discounted) rate of $154. All graduate students, full or part time, can also purchase memberships for their spouses or children.

At the recreation center and at other locations around campus, the Department of Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance offers a broad spectrum of classes (in aquatics, dance, emergency medical response, fitness) and intramural and club sports for the entire BU community.

For information on all campus recreational opportunities, visit the Fitness and Recreation Center online or call the FitRec Hotline at 617-353-4141.
