Energy
Facilities Management & Planning (FMP) oversees the energy and utility management functions for the University, continually assesses and evaluates energy and utility requirements, and provides planning and infrastructure evaluation. FMP is also responsible for the development and implementation of broad-based conservation and managment programs that reduce the operating costs for Boston University.
The Energy Conservation Working Group is tasked to recommend energy conservation strategies, policies and procedures to the Sustainability Steering Committee and to identify best practices and opportunities to reduce the amount of energy the University consumes. They develop strategies to increase energy efficiency on campus while decreasing the University’s carbon footprint by determining criteria for energy audits and pilot programs.

- Mugar Library lighting retrofit Phase 1 will save over 2,000,000 kWh annually
