For Students

Welcome!

Joining a fraternity or sorority is a big, and sometimes intimidating, decision. It is our goal to try and make this process as easy and stress-free as possible for any potential members. There are currently nine fraternities and nine sororities at Boston University which encompasses a diverse group of individuals.

Brief Overview

At Boston University, the InterFraternity Council (IFC) hosts the men’s recruitment informational sessions and events, which takes place twice a year. Usually men’s recruitment takes place in the third week of the semester. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact ifc@bu.edu or visit the InterFraternity Council section of this website.

For women, the Panhellenic Council (Panhel) is responsible for sorority recruitment. At Boston University, sorority recruitment takes place only once a year in the beginning of the Spring semester. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact panhel@bu.edu or visit the Panhellenic section of this website.

Finally, Boston University also has the recently-formed Multicultural Greek Council (MGC). The MGC consists of both fraternities and sororities, and maintain organizations devoted to cultural identity as well as the traditional Greek life values. More information can be found in the Multicultural Greek Council section of this website.
