All chapters at Boston University are part of a national organization who participates in the FIPG Risk Management Guidelines. Originally, FIPG was created in the 1990s to investigate the possibility of providing group insurance coverage for a group of fraternities. After this motive failed, FIPG now advises and provides fraternities and sororities educational resources to be more effective in their risk management.
Currently, there are 47 Greek-letter fraternities and sororities that are FIPG members and who base their risk management policies on the FIPG policy. It has become the complete resource for risk management education for not only member organizations, but extending all the way into the professional environment.
Boston University considers Risk Management an important top priority. Throughout the year, the Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils put on workshops and provide information to chapters to help insure accident prevention.
