General Promotion

Global Programs is coordinating the broad promotion of IEW around the University. This will include flyers and other announcements about IEW, leading the audience to the website for more details.

On the following page you will find the following general promotional items. Academic, administrative and student groups may also use these general promotional items.

  • IEW image (one with a tagline, one without a tagline)
  • 8.5″ x 11″ posters
  • Email template
  • TV screensaver
  • Web advertisements*
  • Printable Event Calendar (Listing all events around the University. Coming soon.)

*If the size does not work for your website, please let us know and we can resize it for you.

Once all the events are received (deadline: October 19), Global Programs will create an event calendar which will be downloadable from the website and also posted around campus. The full list of events will also be available online.

For the week of the events, Global Programs will create signs/posters to be placed at each event location.

Department-Specific Promotion

In addition to the general promotion above, each event host is encouraged to promote their own events within their networks. Please use the IEW image on all promotional materials, and reference the IEW homepage.

Ways to Promote Your Event:

  • Twitter/Facebook
  • Posters
  • Postcards
  • Email blasts
  • Adding it to your website
  • Putting it on a BU TV screen
  • Word of mouth

Submit event details by October 19 to ensure inclusion in Global Programs’ calendar and general promotion.

International Education Week Image Usage

The IEW image should be used as the main focus/main title on a piece (advertisement, email, website, TV screen, poster, etc.). When advertising your specific IEW information (such as events) the IEW image should be used along with your department’s logo.

For example: If Global Programs advertised its own events, it would look like this, using the BU Global Programs logo.

The IEW image is NOT a logo and should not be used like a logo. Do not place it on the bottom of a piece (advertisement, email, website, TV screen, poster, etc.).

Try not to use it with a background image or color. If you do, use the .pdf or .png or .ia files provided.
