Welcome to Our Global Community

Willis Wang_headshotThere’s never been a more exciting time to be part of the global community and few academic institutions embody international engagement like Boston University. Starting with our launch of the nation’s first collegiate foreign-exchange program at the end of the nineteenth century, our international reach and impact continue to grow. Every year, you’ll find close to 2,600 students and hundreds of faculty on all seven continents pursuing research, teaching, and service. At our home campus in Boston, thousands of international students, scholars, and professors from more than 140 countries infuse an already rich global curriculum with international perspectives.

BU’s worldwide footprint is a central focus of the University’s mission and long-term vision. With the rapid improvements in communications and diverse international funding, the opportunities to grow meaningful partnerships around the world for the benefit of our community increase every day. Global Programs works tirelessly alongside faculty, staff, and students to spread the impact of their international activities at home and abroad.

I welcome your contributions to this mission and encourage you to learn more about BU’s broad global engagement. We have created and compiled plenty of resources to assist the development, launch, or expansion of your own global work. We can also connect you to many exciting, internationally minded people around Boston University. Thank you for visiting, and please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or comments you may have.

Sincerely,

Willis G. Wang
