Fellowships for Television or Radio News Professionals

 
These five $1,000 fellowships plus an expense-paid trip to the Radio-Television News Directors Association Annual International Conference are available to applicants who are employed in electronic journalism.

--Michele Clark Fellowship
 
Awarded annually to an exceptional young minority electronic journalist. Applicants for this fellowship must be employed in electronic journalism and have ten years or less experience in the field. The grant may be applied to any legitimate educational or professional purpose.

--Vada and Barney Oldfield Fellowship for National Security Reporting
 
Awarded annually for outstanding coverage of national defense or security issues. Applicants must have either ROTC or other military experience, be employed in electronic journalism, and have ten years or less experience in the field.

--Environmental and Science Reporting Fellowship
 
Awarded annually to an outstanding young journalist for comprehensive and insightful reporting on environmental issues. Fellowship may be applied to any legitimate educational or professional purpose. Applicants must be employed in electronic journalism and have ten years or less experience in the field.

--Michael Burke News Management Fellowship
 
Awarded to television assignment editors, producers or other journalists seeking a career in news management. Applicants must have 10 years or less experience in news.

--Jacque I. Minnotte Health Reporting Fellowship
 
Awarded annually to an outstanding young journalist for coverage of health or medical stories. Fellowship may be applied to any legitimate educational or professional purpose. Applicants must be employed in electronic journalism and have ten years or less experience in the field.

Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarships
 
Scholarships which include an expense-paid trip to the Radio-Television News Directors Association Annual International Conference are available to graduate and undergraduate students in the field of electronic journalism. Candidates may only apply in one scholarship category.

--RTNDA President's Award for Television News Management
 
One $2,000 award is offered for one year to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student whose career objective is television news management.

--Undergraduate Scholarships
 
Nine scholarships of $1,000 each are available for one year to fully-enrolled college sophomores or more advanced undergraduates whose career objective is electronic journalism and who
 
have declared a major in electronic journalism.

--Abe Schecter Graduate Scholarship
 
One scholarship of $1,000 is available for one year to any continuing or incoming full-time graduate student whose career objective is electronic news or electronic journalism.

--Len Allen Award of Merit
 
One $2,000 award of merit is available for one year to an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in an electronic journalism sequence and whose career objective is radio news management.

--Carole Simpson Scholarship
 
One $2,000 scholarship is available for one year to an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in an electronic journalism sequence at an accredited or nationally recognized college or university. Preference will be given to a minority undergraduate student.

--Ed Bradley Scholarship
 
A $5,000 scholarship to a student in electronic journalism. Preference
 
will be given to a minority undergraduate student.

--Ken Kashiwahara Scholarship
 
One $2,500 scholarship to a student in electronic journalism. Preference will be given to a minority undergraduate student.
