Visa Information - Graduate Diploma and Certificate Students

Step 1: Submit a completed application to the BU Graduate Diploma or Certificate Program of your choice.

When you submit your completed application, BU Global will have all necessary documentation to generate the I-20 form on your behalf. Applicants who are accepted for admission into a BU Global Graduate Diploma or Certificate Program will ordinarily be issued the Form-IAP-66/Form I-20 directly from Boston University. Boston University will mail you this form.

Step 2: Make an appointment at the nearest U.S. Embassy.

Once you have received your Form IAP-66/Form I-20 from Boston University, you will need to make an appointment at the U.S. Embassy in your home country to request the F-1 student visa. You will be required to present the U.S. Embassy with this form, as well as your passport, in order to apply for a student visa. The issue of a student visa is subject to the approval of the U.S. government.

For additional information concerning passport or visa requirements, please contact us, we’ll be happy to help.

Are you already in the U.S.?

Foreign applicants to BU Global Diploma and Certificate Programs who are currently in the U.S. must submit copies of all immigration documents at the time of application.
