Admissions: Graduate Diploma and Certificate Programs
To be considered for a BU Global Graduate Diploma or Certificate Program,
students must have the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree.
In addition,
students must demonstrate:
- That they are prepared for a rigorous, fast-paced curriculum
- The ability to play a unique role in class discussion
- Proficiency in English through a minimum score as outlined below on the Test of English as a Foreign Language
- TOEFL (paper-based): 560
- TOEFL IBT: Total Score of 84 - Reading 21, Listening 18, Speaking 23, and Writing 22
- IELTS: 6.5
- A clear career strategy and strong professional reasons for
pursuing the Graduate Diploma
- How the case study method of instruction will benefit their long-term
career goals
- Good writing skills

Application Checklist
A completed application consists
of:
- A completed application form
- Complete official transcripts or notarized full-sized copies of all
previous college, university, and
graduate school study must be sent
in a sealed and stamped envelope
- Payment of a non-refundable application fee of USD $70 must accompany
the application
- Proof of English language proficiency. Original TOEFL score must
be submitted to Boston
University (BU Global’s TOEFL code is:
8675, Dept. code 99)
- Three admission essays
- Resume
- Two
letters of recommendation
- International
Student Data form
- Financial statement (International Students Only)
