Description:

We conduct evaluation and operations research studies within the Uttar Pradesh Community Mobilization Project, a large-scale project with the goals of disseminating key MNCH messages to marginalized communities in rural Uttar Pradesh (India) and strengthening linkages between the community and the public health system.

One of our major studies is a Social Network Analysis (SNA) of recently delivered women’s networks as well as the village-level health networks within project areas. We conducted a baseline SNA study two years ago, and data collection is currently underway for the endline.

Scope of Work:

We are looking for a Research Assistant (RA) with motivation to learn a new set of analysis skills related to Social Network Analysis. The RA will:

  • Work with our team’s Research Fellow and learn how to work with network-structured data
  • After training, assist in data processing, cleaning, and preparation for analysis
  • Participate in conducting descriptive analyses of the data
  • Conduct Social Network Analysis with supervision from Research Fellow
  • Expected work hours will be 10-20 hours per week November 2015 – January 2016, with possible extension through March 2016

Minimum Skills Required:

  • Experience working with quantitative data sets and conducting quantitative analyses
  • Interest and desire to learn how to conduct Social Network Analysis and work with Network-structured data
  • Background in STATA and/or R is a plus
  • No requirement to have any experience with Network Analysis – all skills will be taught on the job

Time/Data Expectations:

Availability through January 2016 for 10-20 hours per week
