GH Emphasis Areas
The Department of Global Health believes that students should graduate with broad analytic and public health competencies (addressed by the School’s core courses) combined with sufficient in-depth training within their chosen concentration to be highly effective, employable practitioners. Students in the Department of Global Health have the option to focus their course of study by taking at least 8 IH credits within one of five emphasis areas:
- Infectious and Non-Communicable Diseases
- Monitoring and Evaluation and Research Methods
- Sex, Sexuality, Gender, and Health
- Health Program Management
- Managing Disasters and Complex Humanitarian Emergencies
Each emphasis area is interdisciplinary and combines offerings in IH with other courses at BUSPH. For an updated list of suggested courses for each emphasis area, please refer to your GH Concentrator’s Guide.
