 Looking for a rewarding professional experience? Interested in helping to enhance the health and development of women and children in a developing country?

 Children’s Nutrition Program of Haiti (CNP)/Kore Timoun’s mission is to improve the health and development and nutritional status of Haitian women and children.

 Currently CNP/Kore Timoun is looking for a year-long Monitoring and Evaluation intern to help fulfill its mission. Details of this internship opportunity are outlined below.  Monitoring and Evaluation Intern:

Works with a strong team to actively help fulfill the vision, mission and activities of the CNP to improve the health and nutritional status of women and children.

 Responsibilities

  • Design and implement, in collaboration with the Country Program Director, a plan for local M&E activities to support the program activities
  • Track progress on a regular basis toward project results through M&E processes and related tools that support quality assurance for key project result areas
  • Compile and disseminate results to relevant audiences including cluster meetings, monitrices and other CNP employees, community forums, etc.
  • Build solid relationships with CNP staff to develop a clear understanding of their strategies and program activities, providing training and technical support for the monitoring and evaluation aspects of their work
  • Deliver coordination and training to help CNP staff and partners develop the skills and experience needed to design effective programs that will result in useful information for planning ,monitoring and evaluation
  • Support efforts to consider overall organizational effectiveness and measurement of progress against strategic plan
  • Ensure effective management and use of CNP’s database
  • Assist in grant writing activities
  • Write reports to donors and the Haitian government on field activities

 Skills Required

  • Passion for helping others, nutrition and maternal and child health
  • Great organizational skills and flexibility and ability to adapt to the changing environment working for an NGO in Haiti
  • Not afraid of hard work, can live in difficult conditions, and ability to hike in the mountains
  • Proficiency in Haitian Kreyol and/or French
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, nutrition, international development or relations, communications, grant writing or other related field
  • Knowledgeable in the field of monitoring and evaluation, and maternal and child health and nutrition
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Access

Skills Desired

  • Previous experience working in a developing country
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation
  • Master’s degree in public health, nutrition, intenrational development, or related field
  • Proficiency in Haitian Kreyol

Kore Timoun will provide: housing and meals, 20 vacation days/ year and all Haitian holidays, a monthly stipend to cover the cost of living.
