- John Adams Innovation Institute - Research and Analysis Intern: The Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (MTC) is seeking qualified candidates for a paid internship at our Westborough office. Reporting to the Research Manager for the Index of the Massachusetts Innovation Economy project, the intern will be responsible for the following:
- Carrying out a variety of research activities, including primary data collection and analysis, related to MTC’s annual Index of the Massachusetts Innovation Economy report for 2009.
- Assist in drafting text and creating charts for the report; participate in weekly project meetings (both on campus and off-site); summarize reports and articles; and other tasks to help us explore creative new ways to benchmark aspects of the Massachusetts innovation economy against states and nations.
About the Index: The Index is produced by MTC, an independent public economic development organization, with a mission to foster sustainable economic growth by promoting a better understanding of the forces that shape the state’s economy and by enabling greater collaboration among the diverse enterprises involved in the Innovation Economy. The annual Index is a comprehensive analysis of the Innovation Economy benchmarking Massachusetts performance against other leading technology states. Entering its 13th year of production, the Index has been nationally and internationally recognized as a comprehensive, objective, and data-rich report that tracks the New Economy for Massachusetts.
REQUIREMENTS: Qualified applicants will be an undergraduate or graduate student in business, economics, political science, public policy, urban policy, or related field; excellent research, quantitative, analytical, organizational, and communications skills; familiarity with the use of common office systems (e.g., word, excel, PowerPoint); and interest in regional innovation systems and the graphical communication of ideas preferred.
