The Geddes Language Center has three rooms dedicated for group viewings. Classes often meet in these rooms for showings, either during or outside class time. Screening rooms can be booked through the online reservation system or by contacting the lab manager by phone or email. There is also a small viewing space that is suitable for viewing by smaller groups. The viewing space is freely available to groups of three or more when showings are not scheduled.
The Video Studio is equipped with a 48″ LCD TV, Dell HD projector with laptop hookups, Blu-Ray Disc player, AppleTV, Region- Free DVD player, VHS/Mini-DV player, and a wired internet connection. The studio has 7.1 channel surround sound. The studio can accomodate groups of 50.
The classic viewing room, Room 537C, has a 55″ LCD TV, a Region Free Blu-Ray & DVD disc player, a laptop hookup, Mac Mini, VHS player, and a wired internet connection. 537C has 5.1 channel surround sound and seats a maximum of 25 people.
The east viewing room, 537A, has a 55″ LCD TV with a Blu-Ray disc player that can also play US DVDs, NTSC/PAL/SECAM VHS player, a Mac Mini, a laptop hookup, and 8 wired internet connections. 537A has virtual surround sound and seats 20 people. Over the air broadcast television (PBS/ABC/CBS/NBC/FOX/UNI) is also available.
The viewing space, 537D, has a 32″ LCD TV and a DVD player. The space has eight comfortable chairs for group viewing via headphones.
