Xu Chen is a Former Global China Research Fellow with the Boston University Global Development Policy Center and a PhD candidate in the Science, Technology and Environmental Policy Program at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, Princeton University.

Interested in environmental and policy issues of energy use, Xu’s thesis work analyzes China and other Development Finance Institutes’ role in energy infrastructure development in the developing world, with a focus on the power sector in Southeast Asia.

Before going to Princeton, Xu received a Bachelor of Science degree in atmospheric sciences from School of Physics at Peking University, China, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the National School of Development at Peking University.
