GDP Admissions

Applications to the MA in Global Development Policy are handled through the International Relations Department (IR) and follow all policies and procedures of that department.  The IR Department is a component of the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences (GRS).  General information on applying to GRS can be found here.  Specific information on applying through IR can be found here.

The deadline for Fall Semester applications is April 15 (January 15 for consideration for merit-based scholarships). The deadline for Spring Semester applications is October 15.  All application materials should be received by the application deadline.  Incomplete applications will not be evaluated. Admission decisions are made by a faculty committee.

Students should indicate in the ‘Specialization’ field of the application form which of the three tracks they wish to apply to.  This information is necessary in order for us to route the application to the correct admissions committee.

All questions about admission to the GDP can be directed to the IR Graduate Programs Administrator.  Contact information can be found here.

Boston University’s policies provide for equal opportunity and affirmative action in employment and admission to all programs of the University.
