Jeni Klugman is the Director of the Human Development Report Office, United Nations Development Program (UNDP). Before joining UNDP, Klugman had a diverse career at the World Bank, focusing in particular on low income countries in Africa, Europe and Asia.
Klugman has had a number of books, paper and reports published, on topics ranging from poverty reduction strategies and labor markets to health reform, education and decentralization. She holds a PhD in Economics from the Australian National University. She also has an MSc in Development Economics, as well as a graduate law degree, from Oxford University, where she was a Rhodes Scholar.
Klugman has just launched the Human Development Report 2009, Overcoming Barriers: Human Mobility and Development, the flagship publication of UNDP, which is produced by her office. She was lead author of the Report, which firmly places people at the forefront of the migration debate, with a bold vision of policy recommendations.
