Anne Short’s research explores the governance of complex and evolving human-environmental systems. Through the use of qualitative and quantitative methods, she attempts to understand if and how a variety of governing programs (such as regulations and collaborative planning processes) plan for or adapt to changing social and ecological circumstances.
Short’s current work examines the governance of environmental challenges associated with changes in the use and management of private rural lands in the United States and Australia.
