  Supervisory Issues

If you have an employee or coworker whose job performance is troubling to you, getting information about what to say and how to handle the situation might be helpful. Most of us prefer to ignore the problem and hope it will go away. Intervening earlier, however, is more likely to be successful to help the employee address underlying issues and function more effectively in the job. Possible causes of job performance issues are: alcohol, drug abuse, depression, family issues, medical illness, immaturity, job dissatisfaction, or personality conflicts. Problems can be sudden in onset or progressive.
