On December 1-2, 2018, Boston University will be hosting a regional basketball championship tournament for the 19th consecutive year. As opposed to past years however, this tournament is NOT part of the NIRSA National Championship Series. However, the tournament will be run much the same way and the winning men’s and women’s teams will receive paid entry into the 2019 NIRSA National Championship tournament taking place April, 2019.
Registration for men’s and women’s teams will open on Wednesday, September 5 at 10:00am. Prior to that date, interested teams should ensure they have a login for our site. To create your login, click here to access our registration page, and then click the green “Get Started” button near the bottom.
On September 5, log into our site, select “Intramural Registration” from the “Adult Programs” drop down menu. At the bottom of that page you will find registration links for the Men’s and Women’s Divisions of the tournament.
The first 8 men’s and 8 women’s teams to register will receive entry. Once registration fills, teams should contact Tournament Director Scott Nalette at firstname.lastname@example.org to join the wait list.
Staff/Student Official Applications:
Applications are currently open. Please click here to apply. Applications for visiting staff will be accepted until October 10. After October 10, student officials applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.
Although this is not a NIRSA sponsored tournament, our tournament’s eligibility guidelines will mirror that of the NIRSA championship series.
Please visit the National Championship Series Eligibility Guidelines page for complete stipulations. It is the responsibility of each team and their Intramural/Club Sports Coordinator(s) to ensure eligibility of all players. Specific questions regarding player eligibility should be sent to Valerie McCutchan at NIRSA.
