CONTINUING EDUCATION

The FitRec at Boston University offers low-cost continuing education credits for AFAA Certified Fitness Professionals. Classes are taught by our fitness staff who are AFAA and ACSM certified and have Master’s Degrees in Exercise Science and Human Movement. All AFAA certifications require you to obtain 15 CEUs every 2 years to renew your certification and sometimes it is hard to fit them in; traveling to find workshops and the associated costs can add up quickly.

FitRec will be hosting the AFAA Personal Fitness Trainer Certification worth 15 CEUs from May 11 - May 13. More information is available here.

The classes will also be accepted for ACSM CECs. Visit here for more information about ACSM CEC.

BU offers workshops during the evenings and the weekends so that you can get the credits you need, while saving time and money!

Classes offered this semester:
Functional Training - 3 hours/2.5 CEUs
Stability Ball - 3 hours/ 2.5 credits
Periodization - 3 hours 2.5 credit
Advanced Fitness Assessment - 5 hours/ 3.5 credits

Boston University also offers a 16 week training course to prepare you for a national Group Exercise Certification or Personal Training Certification.

For more information about these classes please contact Stacie M Humm, Assistant Manager - Fitness at 617-353-0869 or shumm@bu.edu
