Noncredit Courses
Dance
Evening and weekend non-credit classes in movement and fitness are perfect for those with busy daytime schedules. Classes meet once or twice a week for two to eight weeks each semester.
All Dance classes are located in the Fitness and Recreation Center on 915 Commonwealth Avenue.
NEW SPRING 2010: CUBAN SALSA RUEDA
Cuban Salsa Rueda is danced in a circle of partners. Social in nature, this energizing dance is done in clubs and involves changing partners. There is a leader that calls out moves in Spanish for the group to follow. Students will learn the beginning figures and styling. Click here to watch.

LOOKING AT DANCE WORKSHOP
Renowned dance critic/author Marcia B. Siegel will lead this three-hour workshop in March. Using video, movement-observation exercises, and discussion, participants will explore basic tools for viewing, analyzing, and writing about dance. Dance enthusiasts, writers, dancers and non-dancers, students and non-students are encouraged to register.

This a Brazilian martial arts/dance form that is practiced to music. Ballet Repertory
Prerequisite: Intermediate ballet skills, regular attendance at intermediate or advanced ballet technique classes, and consent of instructor. Students learn a modern ballet and then work to refine their execution of the material. In addition to class sessions, there are two required showings, a technical rehearsal, a dress rehearsal, and three public performances of the ballet. Argentine Tango
Students will be introduced to fundamentals of musicality, posture and connection, and the six basic steps of tango from which all patterns are developed. Pilates-based Conditioning
Students explore fundamental matwork evolved from the teaching of Joseph H. Pilates, the seminal conditioning pioneer.
