Family Recreation Classes

We understand that finding a quality children's program that combines fun and education can be a tough challenge. Our professionally trained and dedicated staff is available to teach the fundamentals while becoming role models for your child. We want your child to have a strong foundation for movement without the focus on competitions and costumes.

Kate Bresee (Pre-Ballet) brings a wealth of experience from around the world. After graduating from Bennington College, she lived and worked in Europe for 20 years, as a professional modern dancer, choreographer and educator based in Oslo, Norway. Ms. Kate's class encourages both structured group and individualized work, as well as creative projects for each student to explore and develop their own musicality, coordination and love of movement. She is also on the staff at Tony Williams Dance Center and deCordova Museum.

Sara Yessenow (Moves 'N Groves) moved to the Boston area to receive her early childhood education master's degree from Boston University. She has been teaching locally for six years. She has taught dance classes for 5-8 year olds for after-school programs for three years. She also designed and implemented a dance program at two different summer camps for children 5-12. She studied gymnastics growing up and performed in a winter guard dance group throughout high school. In graduate school she began to formally study hip hop through BU's noncredit classes. Eight years later she is still dancing!

Frantz Louizia (Hip Hop) has been on the faculty of BU's summer outreach program, Reach, for the past several years. He has been in his mother's Haitian folk dance troupe, Arc-En-Ciel, since he was a child and now co-directs the company. Frantz attended the Boston Arts Academy and earned a BA in performing arts with a minor in dance at Dean College. He teaches in the public schools as an artist/educator for Mass Movement, Inc. and also teaches at Franklin School for the Performing Arts and Dance New England.
