Tim Moore earned a Bachelor of Arts in Leisure Studies and a Master’s of Science in Education from Iowa State University. Prior to coming to Boston University, he served as the director of campus recreational sports for a total of 15 years; ten years at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and five years at Miami University in Ohio.
Tim’s initial area of specialty in collegiate recreation was in the area of outdoor recreation and education. In this capacity he directed outdoor recreation and education programs at Iowa State University, Illinois State University and Miami University in Ohio over the course of 15 years. As an industry leader, Tim has volunteered for nearly 20 years as a founder, inaugural President, and member of the Board of Directors for the Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education (AORE). In the National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA), he has volunteered in various capacities since 1983.
Tim has been recognized by his peers with the Jim Rennie Leadership Award from the AORE for leadership and significant contributions to the association and the profession of outdoor recreation and education, the David J. Webb Program of Excellence Award from the AORE for excellence in outdoor programming and student development, and the Region 1 Merit Award from the NIRSA for outstanding contributions to campus recreation and the NIRSA in the New England Region.
Tim loves sailing, weight training and paddling.
