IntramuralsWhat are Intramural Sports?
Leagues and tournaments are offered in the Fall, Spring and Summer. Intramural teams are made up of friends from residence halls and classes or students, faculty and staff members from various departments. Teams are scheduled into leagues with a four-five game regular season with the possibility of playoffs. Each team plays approximately one game a week in the evening or on the weekend. Men's, women's, and co-rec leagues are available in most sports and teams chose their ability division ("A" = Average or "AA" = Above Average) based on the experience level of team members. If you are an individual who would like to join a team, please attend the specific sports captains meeting to try to sign on with a team as a free agent. There is no guarentee you will be able to land on a team, so please attempt to join a team prior to the captains meeting.
Summer Intramural Sports
Information about summer intramural sports will be available shortly on our IM Sports page. Offerings this summer will include the always popular summer softball, along with indoor soccer and volleyball. Start forming your teams now!
2009 NIRSA Regional 5-on-5 Basketball Championship February 27-28, March 1, 2009 For the 10th time, Boston University hosted a NIRSA 5-on-5 Basketball Regional Championship. BU was one of only eight schools throughout the country to host one these very exciting qualifying tournaments which are part of the NIRSA National Campus Championship Series. 38 intramural and club basketball teams from schools as far south as Georgetown descended on the FitRec for a weekend of fun and intense competition.
