Dance Up Close: Indigenous Dance
This month’s playlist showcases American Indigenous dance. The playlist attempts to show the variety within Indigenous dance, as it shows videos from powwows, contemporary Indigenous performances, and other traditional forms of dance. Take note in the diversity of powwow dances; the Harvard powwow video is recorded from a student organized powwow on Harvard’s campus, whereas the World of Dance clip shows how the Indigenous Enterprises group took powwow dances to the commercial stage.
