Boston University funds a number of scholarships for students who meet specific criteria for financial need known as calculated financial eligibility. To be considered, you must file both the PROFILE and FAFSA applications by the required deadlines.
Will you qualify? Apply and find out!
You can’t predict whether you’ll receive financial aid—you can only find out by completing the applications. Keep in mind that we provided need-based gift aid to 86% of the undergraduates who applied for it in the 2010–11 academic year. So, if you think you may need financial help to attend BU, we strongly encourage you to apply.
The following need-based scholarships vary in amounts, depending on your calculated financial eligibility and the availability of funds. Unfortunately, we do not have sufficient funds to help every student who qualifies for need-based assistance. We give priority to applicants with the strongest academic records.
Boston University Grant
Awarded to students who meet all eligibility criteria for need-based financial aid. Your academic performance is also a key factor.
BU Community Service Award
A unique award for incoming freshmen who are Boston public high school graduates, meet all criteria for need-based financial aid, and apply by our financial aid deadline. Recipients receive non-loan financial aid up to their calculated need. Transfer students are not eligible.
