AUTOMATION EQUIPMENT DESIGN & BUILD:

Fraunhofer takes a process-centric approach to automation development. We believe that automation without a thorough process understanding results in a bad product being produced faster! Thus, before we undertake an automation activity, we begin by analyzing the process to be automated, and if necessary, modify and/or change the process to make it more conducive to automation.

Once the manufacturing process is completely understood, we begin automation development which is comprised of a number of phases, each followed by a project review with the client. These phases typically include:

• Conceptual design
• Feasibilty experiments
• Detail design
• Software and controls development
• Procurement and fabrication
• Assembly and test.

Our systems are typically delivered with a complete set of documentation and we train clients’ workforce to independently operate and service the equipment. Additionally Fraunhofer can be called upon to provide spare parts and technical support should they be required post installation.
