President Brown Visits DC
President Robert A. Brown traveled to Washington on October 9 to discuss the upcoming reauthorization of the Higher Education Act with members of Congress.
Brown met with Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Edward Markey (D-MA), Lamar Alexander (R-TN), and Massachusetts Representatives Stephen Lynch and Jim McGovern, advocating for BU’s priorities on higher education issues and highlighting the innovative research BU faculty is producing.
Even in the middle of a federal government shutdown, legislators were eager to discuss the importance of federal investment in higher education and scientific research.
