Dr. Goldman is the Director of Geriatrics. A graduate of the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and the Brown University Family Practice Residency Program, Dr. Goldman came to the Family Medicine Department in 1998 after directing a clinical practice for 14 years. She became the Director of Family Medicine at South Boston Community Health Center and Assistant Residency Director until 2004. After completing a year as a Boston University Center of Excellence in Geriatrics Faculty Scholar and the Stanford Faculty Development Program in Geriatrics for Primary Care, she became our Director of Geriatrics. Dr. Goldman designs and teaches the geriatrics curriculum for the pre-doctoral and residency programs. She also directs the department's nursing home practice.
John
Wiecha, MD, MPH
Dr. Wiecha
is the Director of Predoctoral Education and Direction of eLearining in
the Department of Family Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine.
He received his MD from the State University of New York at Stony Brook,
and M.P.H from the University of Massachusetts. He completed residencies
in Family Medicine and in Preventive Medicine at the University of Massachusetts.
Dr. Wiecha
has received a number of awards and fellowships, including the American
Cancer Society Cancer Control Career Development Fellowship, the Robert
Wood Johnson Foundation Generalist Physician Faculty Scholars Award, and
the University of Massachusetts Fellowship in Asian-American Studies.
Dr. Wiecha has developed a number of distance education courses, including
courses on diabetes, EBM, and communication skills, and is currently helping
the World Health Organization develop a world-wide training program on
antenatal care.
