Overview
This multimedia web-based course will run for 6 weeks,
and will thoroughly introduce this new WHO antenatal care model.
In this course you will learn about the evidence and principles
underlying the model, an overview of the basic components, procedures
to follow regarding late enrollment and missed visits, as well as
special recommendations to implement. Core content for course will
be taken from the WHO manual prepared by Dr. Jose Villar et al.
Course
Teaching Methods Rather than have you read the material
off your computer screen, we offer interactive modules that make
learning more engaging. In addition, we use streamed video to demonstrate
patient visits. No special equipment or software is needed to view
the video; all you need is a computer with sound capability! You
will also be required to participate in online discussion board
as a way to involve you in the online learning experience. Here
you can reflect about your personal experiences and communicate
with your peers about the cases and modules The case-based discussion
takes place asynchronously via a threaded discussion group. You
can read and post messages when it is convenient for you. The course
will require about 1~1 1/2 hours per week of your time, and is of
no cost to participants. |
