SCHOOL
AGE CARE
School age care occurs before
and after school hours in order to provide supervised care while parents are at
work. In some communities, programs are available in the school building, although
usually not as part of the school system. Often you must apply early to reserve
a space for before-school and after-school care. You might also consider using
a family day care provider (see family day care)
or community organizations such as the local "Y" for before-school and/or after-school
care. Another option is arranging with other parents in similar situations to
share a caregiver or to care for each other's children on alternating days.

Office of Family Resources can assist you in your search for school-age program
information. Please complete the Referral
Service Statement and return it to our office if you would like to receive
information about this form of care.
