Boston
University Children's Center
Staff
The
primary professional staff consists of a director, an assistant director, and
four lead teachers, all exceptionally well-qualified and dedicated individuals
with extensive experience in early childhood education. Boston University student
employees, volunteers, and student teachers trained at the Center serve as teaching
assistants. Each student works a minimum of two sessions per week, attends a weekly
training meeting and stays throughout at least one semester. Most students, however,
work longer hours and stay longer than one semester. They have contributed to
our program in many areas, including music, creative drama, and physical education.
They are available for babysitting outside of Center time.
The
teacher-to-child ratio is one adult to every four or five children.
