|The project transforms the vacant former Hillel House building at 233 Bay State Road into an expanded Admissions Reception Center. The renovation includes restoring the exterior of the building and enlarging it by 2,500 square feet in addition to improve circulation in the building and code compliant egress. The expanded project will connect the building to the Castle, providing access and restrooms for handicapped visitors to that building as well. A five minute walk to the GSU or to SMG, the site is also near larger meeting spaces, such as Stone B-50 and the Law Auditorium. Extensive improvements to the area around the building, such as a widened sidewalk and a plaza to the west, are also planned. The project is seeking LEED Certification. The building is scheduled to open in January of 2014.
