Myles Standish Hall – Construction Activity – 4/8/17 to 4/14/17

Myles 4/6/17

For 4/8/17 to 4/14/17:

Deliveries – Subcontractors will receive deliveries all week between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. on both Beacon Street and Bay State Road.

Onsite Construction

 Saturday Work – 4/8/17

  • Interior painting – Stair 1
  • Interior framing and drywall
  • Install valances – 5th floor
  • Masonry work on staging – Bay State Road
  • Install relieving angles on fraco – Beacon Street
  • Clean up and loadout – Bay State Road

 Verizon Off-Hours Work – 4/9/17 to 4/13/17 

  • Verizon has informed us that they will be working on site from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. from Sunday to Wednesday. Verizon’s work is unrelated to the project.

Fire Alarm Testing – 4/10/17 to 4/14/17

  • The electrician will continue running a test of the fire alarm system on the construction-side of Myles. During this time, the strobe lights will be going off and minimal sound will be emitted through the speakers, as needed. The work is expected to continue intermittently until 4/17/17. Please do not contact the Boston Fire Department during the testing. BFD will be notified in the event of an emergency.

Snow Removal

  • During any snow events, snow removal operations may be occurring at all hours in order to keep up with the snow and get the site ready for workers. These operations will require equipment, trucking, and manpower.

Demolition/Loadout

  • Load out at Beacon Street and Bay State Road – Load out demolition debris from 1st floor to dumpster with ongoing daily dumpster swaps
  • Demolition of sidewalk vault on Bay State Road

Masonry Restoration (Exterior – Bay State Road and Beacon Street)

  • Remedial restoration work off of fraco and swing staging – Bay State Road
  • Continue with masonry demo – Beacon Street
  • Continue with installation of windows
  • Continue with restoration work – Annex alley

Roof (Exterior)

  • Continue working on new MEP units and insulation

Site Utility Work

  • Starting utility work at Beacon Street and Bay State Road
