Installation of fibreC panels on the Cummington Mall side of the building on mast climbers 1, 2, and 3, will take place this week, as well as installation of vertical supports for glass on the Commonwealth Avenue side. Miscellaneous roof detailing will be ongoing and the high roof will continue under the cooling tower.

Wall framing will continue on floors 1, 7, 8, and 9. In-wall and above-ceiling electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and sprinkler rough will continue on floors 2 through 9. Drywall installation will continue on floors 2, 3, and 6 and will begin on 7 at walls, and soffit installation will continue on floors 4 and 5. Ceiling grid installation will begin on the 4th floor in the north lab areas. Painting will continue on floors 2 through 5. The service elevator car installation will continue and the passenger elevator cab and rails will continue to be built as well. The Boston Water and Sewer Commission has turned on permanent water which will be introduced to the building systems.

Commonwealth Avenue storm connection work will be ongoing and the catch basins will be placed next week. Pedestrians continue to be re-routed through Blandford, Cummington, and Hinsdale Malls. Eastbound travel lanes reduce to one lane and shift south where we removed the jersey barriers and the overhead protection between 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily.

Police details will continue to man the construction gates along Commonwealth Avenue to ensure public safety. Additional police details have been assigned to control traffic and re-route pedestrians due to the storm connection work. The safety of our community is our highest priority, so we ask that you please pay close attention to posted signs, police, and safety personnel.
